Operational intelligence mapping is the missing bridge between AI governance principles and daily execution: it converts context integrity into decision-ready governance and an orchestration cadence that can be audited. Decision architecture is the explicit design of how decisions are structured, routed, reviewed, and made auditable.For Canadian organizations building AI operating architecture, the practical problem is not a lack of policies. Context integrity needs a decision contract

AI governance fails operationally when “context” exists only as narrative documentation. AI operating architecture should map risks to audit-ready evidence

What does governance readiness mean for orchestration cadence?

Trade-offs and failure modes when you operationalize context mappingOperational intelligence

mapping is not free. The failure modes are predictable. First, overly rigid evidence requirements can slow delivery and create shadow processes. If the decision architecture demands audit-grade evidence for every low-risk decision, teams will route around the system. The stamp includes the AIA-style risk assessment outcome (or internal equivalent), plus a link to the specific evidence bundle produced during the Map and Measure phases. When data-quality monitors detect a provenance anomaly, the orchestration scheduler downgrades the workflow from full automation to recommendation-only and records the reason for subsequent review.This is not a compliance theater exercise. It is decision architecture that reduces cycle time by making the decision inputs, owners, and evidence pathways explicit.
